Lake Hemet is surrounded by the majestic beauty of the San Jacinto Mountains. The scenery is breathtaking no matter which direction your gaze travels. Remember to pack a camera and binoculars, and keep a watchful eye as the Eagles and their chicks are often seen soaring above and around the Campground. Lake Fulmor

Lake Fulmor is a 2-acre lake on Forest service property and offers good trout fishing during the spring, summer, and fall. This serene spot is located adjacent to Highway 243 about 10 miles north of Idyllwild. The lake provides day use activities for the public. Fishing and picnic areas with grills, an encompassing trail which crosses a bridge, and beautiful surroundings make this an enjoyable spot for locals and tourists. A parking area is across the highway for the lake so use caution when crossing to and from the lake.

The deeply weathered summit of Mount San Jacinto stands 10,834 feet above sea level, and is the second highest mountain range in Southern California. No more than a two hour drive from either Los Angeles or San Diego, the mountain's magnificent granite peaks, subalpine forests, and fern-bordered mountain meadows offer a unique opportunity to explore and enjoy a scenic, high-country wilderness area. The park offers two drive-in campgrounds near the town of Idyllwild. Most of the park is a designated wilderness area enjoyed by hikers and backpackers.

The San Jacinto Ranger District is located in Riverside County and encompasses the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains. The area includes steep to very steep canyons and elevations ranging from 2,000 feet to 10,831 feet at the top of Mt. San Jacinto. The landscape is dramatic and picturesque, providing a scenic backdrop for Palm Springs and other Coachella Valley desert communities. The Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains National Monument is located along the east side of the area. Idyllwild is the gateway to the San Jacinto Wilderness.
